The following are a list of organizations, both nationally and locally, which provide immigration resource information and services. This list is not inclusive of all organizations, but rather is a sampling of groups with web sites who provide information on topics such as immigration laws and policies, the process of immigrating, access to basic documents and other related resources and services for immigrants. A short description of the organization and a link to their web site is provided.
American Civil Liberties Union Immigrant Rights Project (IRP) - works to defend the civil and constitutional rights of immigrants through a comprehensive program of impact litigation and public education. The IRP files constitutional and class action lawsuits protecting the historic guarantee to judicial review, enforcing fair employment practices, and maintaining constitutional safeguards against detention practices and biased asylum adjudication.

American Immigration Law Foundation (AILF) - a non-profit educational, charitable organization dedicated to increasing public understanding of immigration law and policy and the value of immigration to American society. The Legal Action Center promotes fundamental fairness for immigrants, their families, and their employers. The Curriculum Center develops resources for teachers and students in the classroom who are exploring our nation's immigrant heritage.

California Immigrant Welfare Collaborative (CIWC) - a statewide partnership that works directly in immigrant communities, with community based organizations, service providers, and policy makers to advocate for the rights of low-income immigrants in California and to provide an integrated response to changes in laws and policies affecting immigrants' access to public benefits.

Community Resource Bank - focuses on issues and practices related to the integration of immigrants into American communities. Resources include basic information and ways to connect with a network of organizations working on timely integration issues such as citizenship, civic participation, education; resources on leadership development programs and fundraising information for community based organizations working with immigrants and refugees; information on new immigrant states and highlights what local governments are doing to address the changing demographics in their states.

Immigrant Legal Resource Center - a national support center for protecting and promoting the rights and opportunities of low-income immigrants and their family members. Staff specialize in immigration law and the employment and public benefits rights of immigrants. NILC conducts policy analysis and impact litigation and provides publications, technical advice, and trainings to a broad constituency of legal aid agencies, community groups, and pro bono attorneys.

Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights (ICIR) - a California coalition which advocates for humane immigration laws, educated faith communities and the public about the contributions of immigrants to society, built immigrant leadership, and increased their level of civic engagement.

International Institute of the East Bay - Immigration Legal Services Program - provides a variety of immigration legal services to immigrants and refugees residing in California's Alameda and Contra Costa counties, including citizenship applications, family visa petitions, temporary protected status, political asylum, and community education and outreach.

Migration Dialogue - provides timely, factual and nonpartisan information and analysis of international migration issues through five major activities: the newsletters Migration News and Rural Migration News, Changing Face and other Research & Seminars, and the CEME project.

National Immigration Law Center (NILC) - a forum to share information and analysis, to educate communities and the general public, and to develop and coordinate plans of action on important immigrant and refugee issues. US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) - provides electronic copies of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Title 8 of the Code of Federal Regulations as well as data files pertaining to recent immigration. Provides information to introduce you to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services within the Department of Homeland Security. The History, Genealogy and Education section provides interesting information about immigration history and how to find out more about immigrant relatives.
